INTERNSHIP

Interning at Balasore Social Service Society (BSSS) is an enriching experience. The interesting tasks, the passionate team and the exposure to BSSS’s variety of initiatives can give you a great opportunity. If you are open-minded, enthusiastic and are looking to experiment while having a lot of fun, this is the place for you. At BSSS, we welcome your new ideas and suggestions with open arms and try to incorporate them in our work. Some days may be mundane or repetitive but they will always be meaningful. Your activity, however monotonous, adds value to what we do.

BSSS offers high quality internships which provide interns with the opportunity to:

  • Learn a profession in the workplace and acquire knowledge from experts
  • Work in a framework which will allow them to develop existing and new skills
  • Consolidate learning from their academic studies
  • Work in a diverse environment, contributing to the development of BSSS

We provide internship opportunities throughout the year, however, summer and winter internships are given emphasis keeping in mind requirements of students/volunteers as per Universities’ /academic institution’s calendar.

We offer internships meticulously designed to enhance academic learning and instill a sense of social responsibility in students.

Together, we aim to nurture informed, inspired, and involved individuals ready to contribute positively to society and the global community.

Intake capacity: As a policy BSSS inducts 2-4 interns at particular time periods. However, it is subjected to the requirements and availability of resources.

Interns need to commit to a minimum of four weeks, so as to achieve continuity and tangible outcomes. The programme begins with an induction of the interns to BSSS’s programs and services, followed by matching the profile (skills) of the intern with the current needs of the organization, to commence the internship period. This well-planned strategy makes internship a productive exercise for the interns and organization rather than a mere series of sporadic efforts.

Requirements:

Your profile could be a good fit if it meets the following requirements:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Bear a moral character.
  • Enrolled in a graduate, post graduate or PhD programme, or have graduated within the past two years.
  • Proficient in at least one language: Hindi, English, Odia, Bengali.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g., mother, father, sister, brother) working with BSSS, or any other relatives in your reporting line of authority.
  • Have strong academic performance and motivation.
